ok so i have got my boost controller all wired in and half set up, as in i have done the stuff from the manual under Configuring Boost Control

so the next steps i take it is to tune the boost controll offset, P, I, D and boostcontroll PID integral limit Values? to controll boost?

I have left the actuator off before this kpa at 0 for now

my question is what does each one of these do?

thanks

The PID bits are just like tuning idle.

Set up the boost RPM and TPS tables first, (make sure there is some headroom in case of boost spikes) then set the P to a low number, say 10, and leave the I and D as zero.  Then drive the car to get a data log and see how everything looks regarding boost stability etc - this is more important at this stage than spool time etc - since this is also affected by fuel and timing.

I'd suggest using Simple Boost rather than trying to get the PID controller working, Extras->Boost Alternate Settings  There is a working help screen in there press F1 and follow the instructions.

Dont know about the Nissan. If you like i could post my settings for boost control for an Audi RS2. It seems to work really well.

billman please post, tnx.

there you go (Acuator is conntrolled through N75 Valve -stock in Audis-)

thanks.

will go with robs idea i think.

when everyone set up there boost actuator and tested it? did it click lots of times or just once?

mine dont seam to be doing anything  ??? i have 12volts at the + and using the ohms setting going to earth the - i get a good low reading but it dont change so in guessing it will work fine just open at the min untill i start to make boost?

will set the boost limit just above the stock waste gate

I use new boost control table in 1.1.27 with success.
Maximal WOT boost control is perfect. Even on turbo with restrictor, where DC varies strongly during rpm range and even on dynamic throttle work

Only bad thing is boost TPS scaling. It try achieve scaled boost not by scaling PWM table value, but simply by short DC dropout to 0%. Same if  boost reach boost vs Rpm table limit. It cause boost to fluctuate.

i think im using 1.1.18 on my vems

I just configuered the boost control on my Legacy yesterday, as i have been running a dawes device,

This is the simple boost with 1.0.73 , and i have a question,
There is a field were its says low kpa 256 and high boost kpa 512.

when running a 0.5bar actuator, does the low kpa then needs to be 150kpa for the giving DC, and the high for the high boost DC, on  mine it needs 87%DC to run 1,2bar,
So i have made the high setting kpa to 220,

Is that right?

THe boostcontrol is working, it would just be great to being able to up the DC in the lower gears,

I miss my AVC-R  :)

One of the Russian developers has put wheel speed input into some test code he's writing, so maybe the functionality you want will be available one day.

Yes, i did see it.

and it is indeed a nice feature, the car will be much faster, when you are able to run the same boost in the lower gears, as the taller gears.

is this still under development? I would like to run a lower boost in the two lower gears when I get the mini 16V turbo up and running.
