egt prob mounting help please

ok so today i drilled a hole in my manifold and the etg prod is only going to go in about 2-3cm how do i secure it? ??? stop the prob coming out or going in more? i have no idea at all well stuck with it and in need of our help

Is the wall of the exhaust manifold not thick enough to take a thread?
It would probably be best to weld the bung in place.
