Is VEMS able to control CVVT
« on: March 26, 2008, 01:56:45 pm »
Hi,

Is VEMS able to control CVVT on inlet and exhaust? I want to convert to the Volvo B5254T engine and want to run it on VEMS :)

Thanks,

Kris :)

It is not.  Most the the Volvo installations lock the CVVT up.

The early type of vvt are simple - they tend to drive only one cam and are on/off jobs.
The later type drive two cams - and are PWM controlled for fine tuning the position of the cams, VANOS and i-VTEC are examples of this.
There is work underway to make a map for cam PWMs, but theres a lot of work underway to do a lot of things...
