When i try connect my WB to laptop (thru USB adapter cable) i open megatune and get this error:

And the gauge makes somekind of buzzi nois and it's wery disturbing and loud.

I think you're using the wrong MegaTune use this one:

That noise is not unusual, there's work underway for a new version of the Gauge's software that will kill the noise.

If you say no to Terminate MegaTune what happens?

You may find that you have to change the comm port in the MegaTune setup

When i push no, megatune starts but does not connect. My USB to com port adapter is configured to com port 2, when i change megatune to same port and push test, it says no connection.

USB adaptors are the biggest source of communication problems that we have.

ranz

Thats what i thought. I'll try to connet it directly to my desktop computers com port.

ranz

Problem stays. I found laptop with COM port and when i connect it directly there i get same error  :( no connection of anykinde...

EDIT: The error linked in first post appears only first time when i start megatune [I downloaded it again and tryed, there it was, in second start was not). Then it's on COM port 3, I change it to COM1 and when I close and open megatune I get this error:

But it is on COM1 and still no connection. I tried to change computer settings and ports... nothing :( test button says no responce!

I get that COM1 error if I try to open on a port that does not exist.

Are you definately using a straight through serial cable? (pin2->pin2, pin3->pin3 and pin5->pin5).

ranz

First i did not use any cable, i connected the plug directly to computer com port (removed some parts from plug to be able to do that), later tried with 1:1 cable. Also opened the plug to be shore that everything is correct there... yes it was. In a minute i'll try it with another computer.

EDIT: Tested it withanother computer. In fist startup i did not get the error message what was linked in first post, but got the second one (it was @default COM3 and data rate 19200) I changed it to COM1 and 9600, closed the program, opened again and no error message at all...but still no connection:( Changed computers com port to COM5, same in megatune but still no responce!
I have tried many many variations...what should i do next?

EDIT2: Form uploadfirmware i get this error:

If you get a connection and no response, go to File and check that the entry Offline does not have a tick mark next to it

No, it has not. In lower right coner is in gray font CONNECTED (when offline then in gray OFFLINE) , but it should be in black.

I get the same error screen if I try to upload the gauge firmware to a VEMS ecu.

Re-reading things... the correct speed for the wideband gauge is 19200

How to upload it then?

Tried this speed also, still no connection.

The only info I have on recovering from a bad download is on the wiki:

If that makes any sense to you.
