Error in VEMS harness diagrams
« on: March 16, 2008, 05:46:08 pm »
Sorry for the stupid sized JPG.

There appears to be a mistake in between diagrams.

I am guessing, so please help me confirm,
The shared 15amp feed to pins 4 and 5 is for the paired injectors in our generic VEMS loom?
The 7.5 amp feed on pin 3 should be for the coilpacks 12v feed?

OR is it the 7.5 amp should feed the 4 injectors with 12v,
and the two 15amp 12v wire are to fede v8 twin coils?
Our generic loom has some coil wires and injector wires taped off since its for a 4 cylinder?

Heres teh two diagrams in question.

The IACV and VVT solenoids should draw no more than 1A a peice, so I cant see that stretching the current much.

Which fuse did you say was blowing?
If you put a DVM set to read resistance across the slot where the fuse was (with the power off) what resistance are you reading?

4 and 5 are joined in the injcetor ahrness.
2 is feeding the coils.
3 is taped back.

All verified with backprobing according to Dan.

We swapped 7.5 amp fuse into fuse holder for what is curently wired to injectors.
We swapped 15amp into fuse holder for what is currently the coilpacks.
The unsued 7.5 amp fused wire had its fuse removed for safety, and so it wouldnt affect future diagnostics.

As with all good projects, the battery died after verifying 10degrees btdc spark.
Seems to be fuelling... :)

Hey,

Just wondering if this was fixed in the relevant places?
