Hi All
Well to make my introduction on this new forum, here is my project that will (eventually) be VEMS powered
So, what do you get if you take one of these;
and one of these;
and an angle grinder? Answer..
At least I will do eventually!
So anyway, the story is in the following pics. First prepare your bodyshell;
The prepare your chassis;
You now have the main ingredients;
A bit of jiggery pokery (and a floorpan shortened by 9 inches) and you have this (that's not me in the pic BTW);
A bit more cutting and welding;
Target 400bhp and 800 kg. Fingers crossed I can keep the weight down!
I'm sure everyone recognises the body, and for those not in the know the floorpan is a Nissan 200sx s13. This has a 1.8l turbo engine, which once rebuilt with uprated internals will be good for 400bhp or more with a bigger turbo. The whole car will be fitted with a fully welded in multipoint rollcage and competition seats, suspension etc. The intention is to use it for trackdays, sprinting and hillclimbing, with a bit of weekend road use when the weather's nice.
As you can see there is still quite a bit of work to do before I get to the stage of installing and mapping the VEMS, but I'm getting there.
This is just a taster of the work so far. Loads more pics and discussion have been posted at
