Transient Suppression Diode (TS diode)
« on: January 01, 2008, 12:41:20 pm »
What type of diode is the transient suppression diode?
How can I find the diode from PCB?

Its a type of Zener diode and is explained fairly well here:

I suppose there isn't only one type (product code) of diode.
What should I ask in the electronic shop or is the diode supplyed with the VEMS kit?

And as I understand some VEMS units have it fitted inside?

If you bought the unit with the 30V flyback in it then it has a Transient suppression diode with a 30V breakdown voltage - there is a TS diode with an 18V breakdown voltage.
