Currently I'm building an "add on" wiring harness for original harness.
I want to be able to use original ECU by just plug&play method if needed because it's my dailydriver.
I also have a BMW E30 project that you can read about @ http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46634

I taught I would use 6.8ohm 50W resistors for stock P&H injectors.
Do I have to use the T.S diode or can I connect the flypack wire directly to the injector power wire?

For ignition I'm planning to use original coilpack connected to EC18-pin4 & EC18-pin10
because when I ordered VEMS I didn't know that original coilpack has an ignition amplifier.
So I ordered ignition setup with 8 high current control channels.
Is the dwell automatically controlled by the ignition amplifier or do I have to control the dwell my self?

Subaru should have Dual Coil Solenoid type IAC?
So it should be connected to EC36-pin6 & EC36-pin17?

This should all be OK?

My current schematic is:

Use the 50W 6R8 resistors if the injectors are LowZ, and you will need to use the transient suppresion diode if its not fitted in the ECU (what option did you buy from the webshop?)
I didnt know that the originak coil pack had an ignition amlifier either!  My EJ22 has a pair of coils, the COP ones come as both types.
Some of the VEMS team suggest using the Stepper channels for coils with built-in igniters so you're not doing anything out of the ordinary.  Dwell will be controlled by the ECU, start with something around 3ms.
Dual solenoid IAC is fine and those pins will be okay.

What difference does it make if there is a ignition amplifier, to none?

Isn´t it just a normal wastedspark coil on the 99-00 impreza,
pin 7 in B134, is cyl 1&2
Pin 16in B134 is cyl 3&4

If you have the ignition amplifier built-in to the coils then you cannot use an IGBT channel.

Yesterday I noticed that I had read wrong model year wiring diagram.
Today I found the right wiring diagram at last.
So I made a couple of corrections.
I didn't find the MY99-MY00 wiring diagram in the web so I got the original diagram about a year ago
when I had electric troubles from a guy who works for a Subaru dealer.

I taught at first I will make new ground wires for VEMS because I don't like the original one.
Only two ground points originally that are split to about 7 wires.
And it helps me to use original ECU if needed because I'm not bridging the original grounding wires.

My ignition coil is actually with a built in amplifier as I'm reading from the diagram. (+ and - and 2 signals)
The old diagram that I had before showed me a separate ignition amplifier.
Thats why I asked about the dwell because some Bosch units are so called smart dwell (used for older cars).
For built in amplifier I must control dwell my self.

Today I also bought the 6.8ohm 50W resistors for injectors.
I'm using the same resistors for my MegaSquirt controlled E30 M10 Turbo engine (with 670cc P&H injectors).
They work very well and it saves time and nerves not messing with the injector parameters.
Original injectors for Subaru should be P&H (LowZ, I'm 99% positive but need to be measured).

As I've noticed the IAC solenoid has 4 channels not two.
How to control and what settings to use with them?
6 wires, 2 of them are +12 volts and 4 are going to the ecu so they must be separate channels.

What to do with the purge control?
I'm thinking of removing the coral canister because I see no use for it and it helps to clear some way for intercooler piping.

What type of diode is the transient suppresion diode?
How can I find the diode from PCB?

I ordered the VEMS @ feb. 2007 and if I remember correctly the configuration should be:
- secondary_trigger: auditrigger
- PS2 connection: yes
- primary_trigger: VR
- mounting-style: screws
- MAP connection: 400kPa (6/4mm pneumatic)
- LCD connection: yes
- Knock and EGT: yes
- ignition driver: 8
- Flyback: powerflyback

Hi.

For the my99-00 you can find the wiring and ecu pinout here, and it´s the right one.

just download the my99 manual.

the injectors a high Z around 13ohm in the my99-00 yellow 440cc injectors,so are the older version grey 380 injectors.
Also found out that the older coil on plug impreza legacy, also is using a ignitor (external).

OK then maybe I remembered the injector resistance wrong.
Need to measure it anyway.
Most of the Japanese cars have LowZ injectors as I have noticed.

I will also measure the CLT sensor resistance because I can get the degrees directly from the stock ECU.

I have to say I thougt the injectors were lowZ too, but it's been many years since I measured!

i know the yellow sti injectors are highZ as these sometimes get used in the sr20det 200sx engines and i have a set sat here too

I have been a bit hang up lately,
but i will order a Vems board now, so i can also get it made ready for pnp in the old 4plug type,
