7M-GTE Trigger
« on: November 11, 2007, 05:38:47 pm »
Was just wondering if any of the later firmwares support the trigger setup on the 7M-GTE?  And if anyone has one an ECU running on it?

Can you define or give me some links to the trigger pattern?

Cheers

I will have to do some research on that... I might even be able to get a trigger off a 7M... I'll have to talk to my buddy.

I do know it's a cam mounted sensor though.

Found some info: http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/h23.pdf
Page 9 tells us that its using a 24+2 trigger, which is good as this is a known trigger type for VEMS and is very similar to the setup I use for the Nissan CAS converter disks ;D

So yeah, as long as theres a good sheilded cable running to the cam sensor we can use that trigger, we may need a good look at the G1&G2 teeth on sensor just to make sure of how best to wire it.

Cheers

sorry to resurrect... but I just need to verify... both sensors in the CPS seems to be VR sensors correct?

this is why the need of good shielding I'm guessing?

Also if I have a V3.3 ecu configured for Primary: VR and Secondary: Hall, I'm guessing all I have to do is convert the secondary to VR as well by soldering/desoldering whatever is needed for the change?

Both sensors are indeed VR, you will need to add a LM1815 chip for the second VR sensor.
I did some instructions on how to do this a few years ago:
http://www.vems.co.uk/VEMS/InputTrigger.html
That will be correct for the v3.3, the v3.4 board has some slight differences.

woah.... V3.4?  I did a search on the WiKi and came up with nothing... any major changes so far?  I just ordered an ECU last week, but in the email it says I'm getting a V3.3 board...

can u send me a link where I can read up a little more about the new boards/changes?

I know this is a little bit of a hijack... but my next post will contain pictures of a CPS... I just got it from my friend. :)
