Running leaner on free flow exhaust?
« on: February 23, 2017, 09:59:58 pm »
Hello, installed free flow exhaust and it seems that car doesn't run as it before. Since exhaust velocity increased, no restrictions, also scavenging decreased, am i right on this?

Is it possible that i need to adjust my VE tables/Acceleration enrichment to "match" new exhaust since it's running leaner?
The running leaner doesn't mean i'm correct, since i didn't looked on PC or did any logs. It's just my assumption on this regarding several posts across internet...

Any ideas onto this?

Yes that´s correct!
If you for an example change exhaust on a motorbike you allways need to adjust the fuel because it´s running lean.

My thought would be the same, but for this moment i need to do "log run", to see what "air/fuel" gauge shows me.
Talked a bit about it with Kamuto (member from this forum and local installer), i think gonna visit it him soon for better adjustments ;)

Simply the VE at some points have changed, that will require adjusting the fuel and ignition for those points, fuel more, ignition not as much

Thanks for clarification. Yesterday was made final exhaust adjustments, so proper tuning indeed required.
