upgrade 3.3 to 3.6 audi ISV confusion
« on: January 11, 2017, 07:16:57 pm »
Audi abz V8 with 2 pin idle valve.  It was working on old 3.3 board with VERY old firmware - 1.17.  Was being driven with stepper output and PWM.  Now I am told not to use stepper output or it will burn out, but I have no free 7amp outputs.  What to do?
Audi ABZ 4.2 V8 in 1993 90 quattro
TTV 60-2 flywheel and cam sync
firmware: 1.2.20

Ok, thank you!  Is there a schematic for how to drive a fet with the stepper output?  Is the fet mounted outside the VEMS?  I don't have any free EC output holes,  if I'm reading my unit documents correctly.

Oh, also, my old version firmware had no provision to control the frequency of PWM, so I don't know which to choose.  What was the default in fw 1.17?  My harddrive with that information ist kaput.

Thanks!
Ben
