Baud rate problem

If i change the baudrate on my ecu higher than 19200, the ECU disconnects from VT. :( I can only reconnect if i power cycle the ecu (OFF-ON). This causing me trouble to make a proper triggerlog... Any thoughts what the problem can be?
Notebook is a Toshiba M10 with internal port, so no USB thingy...
