Is there a way to use a 145-1 trigger?

I'm wondering if there is any way at all to use a 145-1 VR trigger with the VEMS (4 cylinder 4 stroke). I understand it's a problem, but I'm wondering if the software can be modified in some way to make an intermediate calculation so that I can use OEM triggering.

I am assuming the original trigger simply assumes 144 teeth and ignores the -1 for 2.5 degrees per tooth. I'm wondering if there's a way to get the VEMS software to do the same, and whether that's likely to cause any unexpected problems. My thinking is that if I trigger at 1 and 72 and reset after 145 any ignition variation can simply be compensated elsewhere in the software.

Would love to hear some thoughts.

It would be imeasurably cool if this works. Hope the VEMS and VR combo can recognize that one tooth that's 0.6mm shorter.  All I need is a VEMS with VR to test it before I commit to it. This would improve my build immensely. I'll try and test this and report back. If this works, it solves the single biggest hurdle I've had installing VEMS on the late Citroen 2.5 liter petrol engines.
