We removed the static "soft rev limit" and replaced it with a variable whos value was calculated by:

rev_limit = ( TPS% * (MAX_REV_LIMIT - Idle_RPM) )  + Idle_RPM

And then removed the throttle butterfly...

Would we get:

1.  A mess of mangled engine parts come flying out of the bonnet
2.  A complete non-runner
3.  A throttle-less petrol car (with large emissions problem)
4.  Something I haven't thought of.

Anyone want to try? ;) ;)

LOL, could try it on my old single cylinder Briggs and Stratton petrol mower :D

You'd get 3, plus a huge amount of EGT to deal with.
