Hey all!
I have posted a few general questions here but I will give a more full rundown of the project so far...
Long story short, I had a 1993 Audi V8 and wanted to swap the engine into something else.
I found this really rough 1990 audi coupe quattro:
and set to work on fixing it up as a recipient for the 4.2L V8 ABH engine from the V8
I ended up taking the bottom of the ABH and the top of an ABZ (audi A8 engine) so I could ditch the distributors and go coil on plugs.
Got a new B4 hood and cleaned up the inside:
I took a 1997 A8 harness and made it work for VEMS:
Got some motor mounts made:
and started test fitting:
I was having some trigger issues and so I had to move the flywheel a little closer to the engine. Now I get the crank position sensor, flywheel teeth better:
I'm running auditrigger by the way...
Then I figured out the biggest radiator that would fit:
Took this shroud kit from Summit Auto Parts and hacked it up to make a shroud for the radiator:
Mocked up a snub mount:
drew out the radiator hoses:
and made them:
Got the exhaust built:
Here's what it looks like now:
and here's what it sounds like:
