I'm confused. You're trying to connect to a nistune ECU with VemsTune?

Checklist:
* To rule out any bluetooth driver issues first use your serial cable (straight not crossed).
* Connect the cable to both v3 ecu and laptop.
* Make sure the ecu is powered.
* Open VemsTune, go to preferences -> communication settings, make sure communication enabled = yes.
* Press the detect button, it should detect your ecu.
** If it does not, check your serial cable wiring, driver (when using rs232 to serial, press open device manager button and check "ports (com & lpt)" to see if your usb2serial is there and without "!" mark), check ecu power; if all good redo the previous step

After completing these steps you should have communication or at least a better understanding of where to look / diagnose further

I made a video about this too. It was on a BMW M50 ECU, but the same situation applies to all VEMS ECUs.

I haven't seen or heard of that at all before. Thanks for circling back and letting us know how you solved it. It quite possibly will save someone else a bunch of time.
