Assigning inputs properly
« on: July 31, 2015, 08:00:23 pm »
Hello all.

Currently VEMS allows a few analog inputs to be setup for logging purposes, none of those are usable for control , however the trouble is that they can all have the same name, like oil pressure, however oil pressure is not selectable as an input into log viewer, you will have to select the calibrated analog channel you are using, however it still only refers to the analog channel (ADC cal. CH0), the channel name should be Oil Pressure 1 or Oil Pressure 2 and so on.

I feel this needs proper setting up.
Also I think Vemstune should show you the curve you have created to the right on the analog calibration channel so you can visually see the results

There is also a fuel pressure channel that is not possible to set to an input.

Thoughts?

Exactly what I was thinking, it also seems(at least to me) you can not create a custom curve for the different sensor you connect to the spare analog in channels.

Hello Razkin,

Perhaps you missed VemsTune->Inputs->Analog input calibration ? For you channel of choice choose calibration mode curve, choose a curve (upto 3 custom available), choose a type like "Fuel pressure", to see the calbrated gauge choose change gauge data->predefined->analog calX predefined.

Best regards, Dave

I have looked over those options, but it doesn't do much. When I switch to the predifined  for channelX, it just sets thh gauge to -100 to +100, which is not usefull. You also can not see which custom curve is used when fuel pressure is selected or make modifications to that. I would be nice too simply have an 15(or about) point tabel in which you can specify which voltage corresponds with what value. Like you have under Inputs->Custom sensor curve, but with multiple tables in stead of just 1.

Hello Razkin,

The selected curve is used, simple as that; you can select either mat/clt or custom curve which are all 17 point freely definable (when not using the temperature curves as coolant or mat sensor calibration sources (see Ecu calibration dialog bottom for this selection)).

Perhaps you could explain a bit more about your application so i can understand better exactly to which end you want to deploy the curves and how there is a mismatch between the number of curves available and your application ? Thanks!

Best regards, Dave
