When asking for technical help at the very least let us know the version of firmware you are running.

Lost Spark

While idling, my dad's drag car suddenly cut out.  It wouldn't refire and I ended up switching the kill switch off and back on and it refired.  It then ran a 9.95, though it has some weird power surging at the top of the track (not sure if this detail is relevant).  Next time in the staging lanes the same thing happened it cut out again but we could not get it to restart.

I thought it might be the ignition amplifier (MSD DIS 4) and luckily my brother had one in his car so we swapped it with no result.  My dad pulled a plug and did the ignition test from VEMS (with amplifier) and he said he got a spark, though he thought it was weak.

I had him run a trigger log and it looks like trigger events are happening, though no spark events are illustrated.  So far I do not know why.  Let me know if you have any thoughts and attachments are below.  Thanks for any insight!  The only other item is I will have a bypass plug for the ignition amplifier soon, I hope.

FW is 1.1.96 and trigger log, etc is below

Do you have log of cranking?

koabi

yeah the trigger log and the vemslog are both cranking (cranking is towards the end of the vems log though)

try reflash the firmware.

btw is that car mapped? You have very strange tables.

koabi

I will try to reflash.

What do you find strange about the maps?

koabi

reflashing FW worked.  I wouldn't have thought to do that so thanks!  What might cause that, though?
