Haalp! Trigger dialogue gone haywire :\
« on: July 25, 2014, 05:54:46 pm »
Two days ago a made some nice recordings of my trigger signals.  Now it goes nut when I open the dialogue window and you can see from the image a got that something is funky.   It's starts to print lines even when the motor is not cranking over now:

Anybody got ideas?

Thanks!

I have not changed the wiring or config since I made successful recordings other than to fill in the missing half of my trigger tooth table.

What is the meaning of the red x eye for "primary trigger" and all the other stuff like "safe mode" and "bad strig pos"?

So confused.... How could this work find and then be haywire?  This is my typical vems experience, really.

It looks like even though things looks crazy in the dialogue, it still records.  Number one thing:  Should my TDC crank and TDC cam be slightly off like that?  I timed it with cam locks and a woodenb dowel in the cylinder #1 because the crank pully was way off (!).

Here is the log from that:

Thanks for any help.  I am pretty confused at the random changes in behavior.

Oh, so, regarding the primary signal and the secondary signal being super-close together... is that bad?  I thought I had read somewhere that you want them to be aat least 30deg apart.  I can easily make a new cam trigger bell because I have extras :P

Are you using a hall effect cam sensor? If so try and use the other edge, it might move the trigger to a more friendly point as the VEMS doesn´t like the trigger so close to the crank trigger.
