I need some help setting up the vems trigger settings for a Ls1 v8 with a turbo. The reluctor wheel is a 24 tooth and a single tooth cam trigger. Any help would be awesome.

gunni

So is this reluctor cam mounted or crank mounted?

Below would be a starting point.
Then do a trigger log and report back.

The 24 tooth is on the crank and and the single pulse is on the cam.

gunni

replace 24 with 48 above and 3 with 6, and the trigger gaps will have 6 teeth between them

Also the trigger tooth width is 15deg.

Is the the GM/chevrolet 24+1 trigger well supported and tested with recent firmwares?
I have a dude who is thinking about putting VEMS on a GM V8 4.8 litre, and he was around when support for this trigger type was developed and feels a bit weary about it and would rather have 36-1 simple and tried.

In the above primary trigger setings, the "RPM filter" should not have to be enabled.
Also in the secondary trigger dialog, the "LS1 forgiving" should be enabled due to race conditions between the trigger signals.

Please provide triggerlog when you start this one up!

Hello Turbols,

Perhaps you missed my hints in your other topic:

Just wire two coils, which fire 360 crank degrees apart, to one ignition output and select the proper firing order/setup the proper output sequence in "Base setup->Ignition outputs visual"
Make sure to confirm your timing and firing order with timing light.

Did you confirm engine timing and firing order with timing light before anything else ? Make sure you have no power to injectors by removing INJ fuse when setting up the base timing.

Best regards, Dave

Its running! I already had the cylinders paired correctly. The problem was we were 180 off on firing.  I swapped the outputs in the ignition output settings and got tdc correct on cylinder 1. It seems to have some trigger interference intermittently while running though. I believe its from the secondary trigger being so close with the primary at a certain pick up point. I am going to try and run the engine with no cam sync since i'm running wasted spark I should be able to do this. Thank you for your help.
