Using AEM Wideband o2 output for VEMS input.

Hey folks,

I am installing VEMS onto an ae86 that used to have an AEM ecu and still has an AEM wideband o2 controller.  Do I need to do anything special to continue to use the AEM controller and output the wideband signal into the VEMS?  I didn't see any instructions on how to do this in phat bob's install manaual.

You don't see anything about that because it's not what you do.
You connect a Bosch LSU4.x sensor directly to the ECU.

By this you mean that the VEMS does not support using an external wideband input?  This is pretty common practice for other ECU's, just didn't know if the VEMS supports this.

Because the controller is internal there is no benefit to having an external signal. I fail to see this as a negative.
Simple reasons : Fault detection, calibration and signal integrity.
By comparison, most other ECUs _require_ an external controller. With VEMS, connecting one sensor directly is standard, two is optional.

If you want to watch the signal externally on a display there are many options.
