What ignition settings are required to get dis wasted spark coils to fire? I am using these on a ford v8 and NOT using the edis module. Coils are powered and using 33-34-35-36 for the triggers. I am not sure of the other requirements needed for proper ignition settings configuration.  Much thanks in advance. John

You need to set dual mode to active, this shows you then two ignition outputs that would be active at any given time. It´s in the ignition outputs settings menu.

Will give it a shot this evening. Thank you.

Tried unfortunately no fire. I am using the same settings as my other cars, however they both have msd dis4 ignition boxes. I have always heard the vems should run the coils fine. Why does it only work with the ignition amplifier?? I'm stumped..

Does the test function in the ignition output menu create a spark at all?
Also post a link to your map.

It wont fire when test is used. Only if i wire in a MSD DIS4 amplifier will it spark.

ignition outputs in use = 8
ignition driver type = normal
driver output = disabled
dual output = enabled / disabled both dont work

coil charge time = 4.03 used, on all cars and still running fine after 3 years
charge time map = 0 normally and 1 currently, both tried

Using pins 33,34,35,36  firing in order as both other cars. Everything is the same settings. Both other cars are ford waste spark coils. Not using the edis8 module on any car, just the two coils and I cant seem to figure why the working ignition with the DIS4 and no fire without it.

Thank you for hanging in there with me. John

Has that ecu definitely worked before with coils that do not have their own amplifiers? Just wondering if it got ordered wrong.
