Iac not working
« on: April 08, 2013, 05:30:50 am »
I have a new 3.6 Vems box and its allmost working. I think Iac is not. Voltage is ok / pin 6 / 36 is in use. Iac light is green but nothing happens.

In iac motor is two pins. Other is voltage and other is ohms? Sholud I measure Ohms?. There is nothing in other pin.

Motor starts but stops becouse it don't get air and sucks pressure pipes together. I have rotrex charger and cooler with pipelines.

What pressure pipes???!
If IACV control is off you should able to compensate it with throttle and get stable rpms - whatever you want.

Did you configure accordant output in Vemstune?
Did you install diode in parallel with IACV?

Diode is between. Pressure pipes from charger. Rubber ones between aluminium pipes. 90 angle. Before and after aircooler. I think that Iac is not working and motor sucks rubber curves together.

Starts, idles and stops when rubber hoses goes together.

In Injector outputs table I have 4 injectors marked. In idle solenoid channel nothing marked.

In old Vems manual it says ec36-pin6 enter 64 but in injector outputs visual I can not enter anything.

Seems you have two problems. Hoses is problem! You have something forgotten in the intake!

EC36pin6 and historical "64" means the same. Under injector outputs visual you have to check one square in any free (unused) row. And number of that row ("injector group") you have to chose as IAC output under Idle hardware settings

I choosed from Injector Outputs Visual out put = 6 ec36pin = 18.

Idle hardware settings

float
976 steps
255
89steps
disabled
negative
normal
1 d
2 b
3 c
4 a

216

Where that out put 6  ec36 = 18 should be marked / writen?

Please look at injector output grid more. It is self-explanatory.

You describe stepper motor settings. But you have PWM valve. Chose "PWM" in idle general settings.

Thanks for advices. I don't find injector output grip.Where it is?

Stepper is now changed.

Same as injector outputs visual. It allows you to map outputs whatever you want.

Now i have in injector group table:

injgroup 6     out put 1 ec 36 7 solenoid valve

injgroup 4     out put 4 ec 36 20

injgroup 2     out put 3 ec 36 8

injgroup 1     out put 2 ec 36 19

injgroup 3     out put 1 ec 36 7

Iac is light is green. Car idles but nothing happens in iac solenoid. Also hoses goes together.

I have a 4 cylinder motor. First is throttle, then rotrex charger, pipe, rubber curve, aircooler, rubber curve and intake manifold. Now rubber curves goes toughly together. Motor sucks them. Wierd:)?

If you are using standard type rubber hoses on the induction they will collapse since everything is subjected to full manifold depression. The idle valve will never ever resolve this. Manifold depression on overrun conditions is as low as10kpa maybe less.

The only experience of this sort of supercharger set up i have had is with the BMW Mini Cooper S which uses entirely ridgid pipes the rubber bits only join the ridgid bits together.

Thanks. I have to change rubber hoses. Make those joints shorter.

What shoul be seen in those two pins when Iac is working. Another is voltage and other shows amps? Ohms?

Still looking for Iac. Is it working or not? I think it does nothing. There is no difference if I take electricity cabel away.

Did you set it to PWM instead of stepper mode as instructed?
You don't even need to have the engine running to try different things with the valve.
Begin by setting the working frequency to an audible one, like 50 Hz. That makes it easy to _hear_ if you have wired it correctly.
Then try different min/max settings for the opening %, or change the crank duty % value for the valve.

I had wrong settings. I had e36 place 18:). Now its place 6 and solenid is working:) Yes!!!

Thanks for everybody.

When i put voltage on iac dont work and its grey in display. In old Vems what I had its was working when voltage on.

In this new one it works only when motor is on. Also display shows iac on with green colour.

Now I have to do more settings, yes!

I have also pwm changed

Now motor idles about 1400 rpm. If it goes less motor stops. I should change setups like enrichments and so on. From where should be best to start? Throttle is a bit open. If I shut it motor stops.

Now motor idles between 600-1700 rpm. Throttle is 2% open. Lamda goes between 0.9 - 1,35.

Priming Granking & afterstart is
8.0ms
45.01%
399rpm
4.0deg
55%
64cykles
16cykles
0%
6100rpm
90%

Granking enrichment

-34    400
 -4     269
30     119
68     100

Afterstart enrichment

-34    181
-4      100
30      100
68      100

Warm up enrichment curve

-40   150
-30   140
-21   130
-10   120
-3     115
10    100
23    100
40    100
60    100
71    100

Spark angle i about 10.0 in area when rpm 600-1700

What I should adjust for nice idle 900 rpm?

Nozzles are 630. Motor is 2.0ltr.

Ve tables are too rich? Thats why nothing changet upper here helps?

Edit: I changed adjustments alot but still idle goes between 700-1400rpm. About. What could be biggest reason for that?

Also when I start could motor its hard get it going. I have to give throttle for starting.
