bootloader upgrade?

I noticed firmware 1.1.94 listed a bootloader option and i see there is a menu for it under tools (i believe)

says the new bootloader is needed for 1.1.89 or newer.   Is this the case? Anyone else upgrade?

Says i can't upgrade because my ECU is not locked.  Need ISP cable to do it (which i have, but don't feel like doing it  :'( )

I tried 1.1.94 and .95 yesterday on my bench with stock (old) bootloader, everything seems working normally.

I have no pressing desire to upgrade the early bootloader - especially as I don't know the advantages of doing so.
