« on: July 03, 2011, 06:06:52 pm »
is it possible to speed up the process of downloading multiple log files from an sdcard.....

first time i've been able to use car on the road to MOT station today....and i've got about 8 logs to download only its showing about 20mins to download them....

i've got the external sdcard....but i cant be read in windows...

speed set in ecu settings as 19200baud.

The card has no file system.
It must be accessed through VemsTune, "SD Card reader" in the Tools -> SD card menu.
Or is it that which doesn't work when you mean "read in windows" ?
Check the device manager to verify that the card actually shows up as a storage device.

I'm guessing your referring to the "SD card baud rate" ?
The only choices there are 57600 or the higher default setting of 115200.
I always use the lower speed due to noise problems in most installations.

i can get all the logs off the cad using the sdcard reader in vemstune, but when you put the card in a pc....it wants to format it.

Will try and change the speed settings and see what happens.....its just at the moment quite slow downloading many logs...

found it much easier using sdcard than having to take my netbook everywhere....

A nice file delete button from the sdcard reader in vemstune wont not go amiss....as i presume the only way to remove the logs is to use the format option.

cheers

So, just say no - click cancel or whatever, do "no operation", when windows asks to format the card.

I'm not sure about the download rate, but it's on the order of 1 minute real time to download 10 mins of raw log data over serial at the higher speed.

There is no possibility to delete single logs, maybe if there is support for a proper file system later (eg FAT like everything else that's "pluggable").
