Tacho output during cranking
« on: April 23, 2011, 07:13:38 pm »
Hi All.

The tacho is going full scale and then some, when cranking before the car starts, and have done it ever since 1.1.81 firmware.
And i´m afraid that its going to destroy tachos, that i will then have to pay for  :-[

Can i do something to stop the output(ec36-4) working before crossing the cranking treshold?

I would ofcourse be best if the software get worked on so it works without problems..... ::)

THanks,
Skassa

Mine has been doing the same thing.  Relatively new, but I don't recall what firmware version started it.  If this is a "feature" (trying to be cool like new cars) can we disable it?  Kind of annoying, and out of place considering none of my other gauges do it (like new cars do).

I am not worried about damage though.  My tach has its own pulse counter (or so I have been told) so the fact that it is getting 100% duty for maybe a second doesn't matter anyway.

It is fixed, keep a lookout for the next firmware release - probably 1.1.93.

1.1.93 is having some final testing, and will be published soon
we found the problem causing the bad tach behaviour, during the first revolution at very low rpm.
