1.1.96 firmware required?

I am currently using the 1.1.95 firmware, and after reading all about the 1.1.96 adn 97, the changes made in those firmwares do not apply to me as i dont use any motorsport features etc.

i am patiently waiting for the reemplementation of the knock tables to allow for better knock control. Is there any need to upgrade the firmware?

I don't think so. I am in the same position as you. I'm mainly waiting for the knock code to be reinstated. :)
