Where's the best place to mount the vems air temperature sensor.

Before or after the throttle plate?.

cheers

I've heard various reasons for both before and after the throttle - personally I follow the lead of the manufacturer and put it where they do.
On my Honda engine they have the sensor midway down the inlet tract of cylinder number 3.

sure makes sense, only ask as currently i have it in a metal inlet duct right after the air filter, and think it's maybe heat soaking after a while.

While i have been modding a new carbon plenum, thought i could mount it in there and it might not soak as much heat.

Only problem with the plenum is, the sensor might get coated in fine oil, as the vent from the rocker also feeds in to the plenum so, its normal to have some oil around.

Maybe best to try and find some plastic pipe to mount the sensor in.

cheers
