Hi there. I have a problem with launch control with my installation. All the wiring is done like PhatBob's manual say. With pullup to +5v.

When I turn it on, launch on flag is appear in VT but feature doesn't work. I set launch rpm to 2000rpm and when I push the throttle it doesn't stop at 2000rpm but goes normally to redline. It behaves like the feature is off, but flag is green and says "launch on".
I also tried to set it in VT to alwaysOn to check if maybe my wiring is broken but that change doesn't affect to anything. Flag is on but engine revs freely to redline..  ??? What is going on ?

I'm using nonPS2 1.1.92 firmware.

Ok I have made some log.

http://www.ital-performance.pl/temp/vems/alfa_lc.vemslog

Redline is set to 3500 according to engine rebuild but I wanted to test LC so I set launch max rpm to 2000 rpm as you can see in the config but it doesn't work .  ???

mattias

It's like only the fuel enrichment is added, but no ignition retardation is happening.
According to VemsTune spark calc model  the 30 degree retard should be in action, but this is not happening.
I might get back to you if I hear from someone who knows better.

ZoLtaR

So it's my fault, I mean wrong configuration? Or VT/firmware/hardware problem?

mattias

Regardless of 2000 rpm being realistic or not, I would like to hear you try the same settings with only change to the "boost decrease" settings :
- start boost decrease at 200 kPa (instead of 510)
- range 30 kPa (instead of 510)

A log would be nice on that too.

what fw are you running.. last i checked anti lag has a flag but launch does not.

i didnt look at your log so i could be wrong.. but if my memory is right.. then again its almost bedtime and i have been wiring a car ALL day so im a little tired and half asleep

Ok no problem, I will make a log but boost decrease function is disabled so those 510kpa options should not affect to anything ? Am i right? The worst thing is vems don't want to cutoff at set rpms. Log will be here in about hour.

Check first post. 1.1.92 nonPS2

Mattias, here is the log.

Nothing changed, still don't want to cutoff @ 2000 rpm. Revs freely to redline  :-[

Hi

I think your problem is around the speed signal.
You have speed input, but you use the launch in non speed dependent mode.
Calibrate your curve to 255km/h in all speed bins and your RPM limit to all RPM bins.

ZoLtaR

Thanks, I'll try that, but look that launch speedbase control is disabled so it should not affect to that?

mattias

The problem is found, if a speed signal is present you must use speed dependent mode.

To disable with this firmware, set all speed bins to 255 and RPM bins to the configured RPM limit.

This bug will be fixed in 1.1.95.
