need quick trigger mod help!
« on: March 01, 2011, 02:36:35 am »
right.  I've re-vamped my engine configuration after some down time:

1999 Audi ABZ v8
60-2 wheel on front crank pulley

**PREVIOUSLY** the VR trigger sensor was exactly at the dead bottom of the crank pulley.  The trigger block was set so that TDC on the engine occured 45deg after the gap hit the trigger at the bottom.

**NOW** the sensor has moved to about 45 degrees to the top right of the crank pulley TDC.... er, so the sensor has moved clockwise by 225 degrees.

see below :)

Oh, I am using 1.073 firmware.

Here is more info... um embarassing shennanigans are happening.  My trigger BTDC number is 48 degrees... engine runs great and has been for years.

However I just did actual math and from the center of the trigger wheel gap to the sensor was 33 degrees on the old setup.

I have affixed the wheel now so that the degrees between the center of the gap and the sensorare 25 degrees.  My only other option is about 100 degrees.  So, is 25 degrees enough for the ECU to think?  Or should I use 100?
