got everything connect on my loom ect thougth id plug the vems in and see if i can get it to talk to my laptop turned ignition on and just get one of the relays on the loom buzzing away ?

What relay is it?
Chances are you've got a strange config setting that has one feature turning on the relay and another turning it off.
Until you can load up a decent config, anything could happen... So ffs don't wire in the fuel injectors!

cheers rob il  have a look tonight and better get them injectors unllugged

If you're using the VEMS v3 harness you can just remove all the fuses except for the 1A fuse that powers the ECU.
On the positive side you do now know that the ECU is powering up!

A proper way of hooking up a new system is to begin with all things un-powered. Begin by calibrating all sensors (temperature, TPS, lambda, ..) and verify that the trigger works (you get rpm, and make a triggerlog while you're at it). Then power the ignition coil(s) and roughly check the timing with a strobe light and adjust the trigger settings. Now the injectors can be powered.

I would also first use a DVM to measure the pins, proper grounding and sensor readings.. it might require a bit more knowledge about how this stuff works but it's simple enough to notice if there is voltage where there shouldn't be any when all things are un-powered (fuses or connectors removed).

just to let you know the whole system has come off a working car running throttle bodies ive just added a few more sensors ect found out what the buzzing was the manual over ride switch was on for the fuel pump just waiting for a lead to arrive so i can actually start to get the thing programed up

What car is this going on?

reevio

renault clio 16v mk1 with volvo 480 turbo engine bigger turbo injectors ect

It was the 440 Turbo conversion into a Renault 5 GT Turbo that I did which got me into this ECU nonsense in the first place!
It never ran as the injection stuff took up all my project time.
It would me nice to see some pictures up in the projects section mate.

Cheers

Check the device manager and device properties, make sure you're using the latest driver for it - download from the manufactures internet site.

I´m only 25min away. If you need any assistance then I can come help you out for a tiny fee to get you going with the ecu.

found out why the relay was humming it wasnt latching fully due to me having 12v in and 5-6 volts out was a really poor earth so sorted that and now its functioning correctly
