Looking for sample 1.8T (AGU) config
« on: December 14, 2010, 07:01:10 am »
Hi guys,

I am trying to get a rough baseline to start tuning an AGU car with a stock k03 (for now) so if you have anything please let me know and give me your injector size, turbo, octane fuel etc.  This car currently has ~315cc injectors.  I am currently using 2.5ms chargetime on stock coil on plugs and the car seems to have a bit of a stumble when it warms up.  It may be a bad COP but I want to confirm setting before replacement.

I can post my config if anyone is interested; the car idles fairly well but chokes under load.

Also, I am currently using 60deg TDC after trigger for primary trigger setting, but I thought it may be 56.5 degrees.  The car runs ok with 60, but I do want to ensure I have that dialed in properly.

Thanks for the data

Did you ever get my email with the diagrams?  I sent them to you a long time ago.

As for a config, I might have something kicking around for a stock 1.8T with COP and camsync on a 1.0.x FW.

if you sent me the file "v3.3_n000609-2010.09.14-22.15.27_IT_RUNS.vemscfg" then that's what I used to get the car to idle :)  If i recall correctly, you had only used that configuration for idle yourself as well.

No I was speaking about the wiring diagrams for the 1.8T (remember from chat a few weeks ago?)... I emailed them to you, just never heard back so I'm not sure if you got it or not.

I did get the config, thank you.  We got the car running with that.

We just changed the setting of "TDC after primary trigger" to 54.0 degrees which does not correlate to your settings or any settings i've come across but it looks to be the proper setting according to the flywheel markings.

Now to get the timing set properly...

I've made some logs with this engine (180 HP, 9.5:1 CR) on stock motronic 7.5
From 2001 they're equipped with WBO2 and always running in closed loop, allowing 25% fuel adjustment to happen.

Lambda: it's always cruising at ~lambda 1.0, even when the engine is cold.
On load (0.6-0.7 bar boost): lambda 0.94 till 4000rpm, then it gets really thirsty, lambda 0.80 and even richer at the top (>6000)
I think this is curing knock caused by the small turbo and high CR.

Ignition is interesting also, at wintertime I see 15-18deg BTDC on boost, but hot summertime it was 0-3deg BTDC and felt really weak on 95 octane pump fuel.

This engine seems to be near knocking all the time, and motronic relies heavily on the stock knock sensors.
