Hi,

i have noticed after studying some logs that above around 6200rpm i tend to get a trigger error message with indication regarding the secondary trigger: Less Secondary Trigger.

i have no misfire or problems there while doing the pull, so im wondering what is that.

my min/max andle of secondary trigger is 359 set. is that the problem and what does that do?

thanks

AVP

and that should fix it?

what does that do?

AVP

did what you said and the trigger error went away.

can someone explain though what do these 2 values mean and do?

GintsK

It describes window within cam signal event should occur.

AVP

Hmm, and what does that mean? ??? ???

mattias

It's a simple form of signal filtering, you can ignore signals that appear to late/early. The default action, as you see in the secondary trigger settings, is to ignore this - but it still warns. If you set unreasonable limits here, it will always give you trigger errors.

Mattias, what means 0deg there? TDC? So if my cam pulse occurs 80deg BTDC what is right settings? 270min 290 max?

AVP

i need to ask something more fundamental, and sorry for that though.

When we say primary trigger i understand that it refers to the VR sensor counting the teeth on the flywheel

Secondary trigger has to do with the hall sender(sensor) that looks at the angle of the camshafts?

so when there is a trigger error on primary or secondary, does that mean that this could be related to a faulty sensor? or is there any other part that may need to be looked at?

I can speculate as much as anyone but I have no idea on how it actually works.

With any luck I'll find out and add that to the documention when I visit HQ in Budapest next week.
