question about VR crank sensor on VW 1.8T AGU engine .....

Hi everybody,
I'm working on a Plug-and-Play harness for my VW Golf GTI 1.8t AGU engine type,the primary trigger is VR type on crank(60-2).
I've got 2 wire like the VEMS connecting description,but what I need to know if it's dangerous for the ecu to swapp this 2 wire.
How can I determine the good pin position?

It's not harmful to swap the VR sensor wires. Often times we do have to do that because for whatever reason the OEM decided to run the sensor backwards from common convention. If you check the signal with an oscilloscope the signal should rise more slowly than it falls.

That's a rather crazy Subaru trigger, but you can see the distinctive shape of the VR signal well (both top, crank trace and bottom, cam trace)

If the rise is steep and the fall is more gradual, just swap the wires.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your  fast reply,now it's more easy for me to understand how does it work!!
Now I have to check the signal....
Can I check it with the Vems tune soft??
