fuel injectors and controlling the consuption

can anyone tell me if switching to EV14 injectors and carefully mapping lamda and VE tables would allow for better fuel consumption on light loads, than using the same techniques with conventional injectors(ie siemens Deka that i use now)?

anyone has any experience like that?

also does anyone manage to get better fuel consumption merely by using the ideal timing and lamda close to 1? OR do most of you end up going to leaner lamda values to achieve better consumption?
