Config Switch

Hi,

i installed a switch today and tried to make a config switch but i was not successful.

I connected to pin 1 of the connector and gound. So i have either nothing or ground on this pin.

Is it correct?

here is my config

On the other i simply choose Config Switch from B->A.

These are the connections on my ECU:

pin1 mcp3208 pin6,ch5
pin2 mcp3208 pin7,ch6
pin3 mcp3208 pin8,ch7
pin4 EC36 pin 34 (power out)
pin5 EC36 pin 36 (power out)
pin6 GND

Verify that the switch is working in the ADC raw gauge group, it's in the "View" menu of Vemstune.

I do need to simply ground the Ch 5 don't I?

Do I need to change something in the analog input calibration?

I checked the switch with a multimeter and it really grounds.

Connect pin 6 with pin 1 through a switch, don't use just any ground point.

The switches don't rely on any calibration, that's only for displaying data from a linear sensor like a 0-5 Volt MAP sensor.

You must use an input that has a pull-up to 5.0 Volts, if the voltage is fluctuating or close to 0 Volts then that input can be used for MAP sensors and the like, not switches - unless you add an external pull-up to 5.0 Volt which is a bit tricky with the PnP ECU but can be done.

Check the ADC "raw" gauges, there you'll see which have a pull-up and which who don't, and you see if the switch does its job.

I used a ground point on the car not Pin 6.

No. Using outside ground is dangerous and can lead to heavy noise or even ADC damage during cranking. Please use same ground as sensors has.  pin6 is same ground.

OK, Ch. 5 was 0.4-0.5 volt so it dint work but i used ch 6 and worked fine!!!! THANKS!!!

Question: Is it safe to change config on the fly or do you suggest engine out etc?

Config can be switched on the fly until both configs uses same output and input channels.

Yes i use ch 6 for both!

Now that i know how the switches work i need to get a stepper motor and a bracket to try and get Antilag :-D

What GintsK means is "if you are using same setting for all input and output channels (injectors, coils, fuel pump...)".

Engine is a tuned 1.6 litre 4 cyl / 8 valves (TU5J2) with 220 cc/min injectors fired individually+ wasted spark

I used config switch with different injector outputs previously. But then channels of unused group should be forced closed by some setting. e.g. misc output. Otherwise some injector can stay opened and ECU do not cares about it.
