Connect pin 6 with pin 1 through a switch, don't use just any ground point.
The switches don't rely on any calibration, that's only for displaying data from a linear sensor like a 0-5 Volt MAP sensor.
You must use an input that has a pull-up to 5.0 Volts, if the voltage is fluctuating or close to 0 Volts then that input can be used for MAP sensors and the like, not switches - unless you add an external pull-up to 5.0 Volt which is a bit tricky with the PnP ECU but can be done.
Check the ADC "raw" gauges, there you'll see which have a pull-up and which who don't, and you see if the switch does its job.
