Twincharged AAN
« on: October 01, 2010, 06:59:31 am »
I have a turbo and supercharged AAN S4. I borrowed a motronic55 VEMS from a friend to test (running turbo only) and decided to buy one - only thing is I can't afford the nicely packaged motronic55 unit. I get a little confused in the VEMS shop so maybe you could help. I want the same functionality with closed loop lamda, BUT wit 2 EXTRA boost control outputs for the supercharger setup. The wiring I can do myself. What other info should I supply?

There is only code to support one boost control solenoid I'm afraid.

That's ok, I've got a standalone controller that I used at the moment for the charger control - I'll use that. What do I need on the VEMS side?

Rob! There is two!
One is controller with PID and base PWM curve
Other - "alternative" one. It uses rpm/pressure dependent PWM 3D map.
Both can be configured independently on two different output channels.

Currently I also have S2 project with two sequential turbos of varied sizes. Setup also uses two W-gates and require two independent PWM controls.

Goes to show how far behind I'm falling - I've not touched a VEMS in over a year now.

VEMS unit becomes more and more features complete.
Now real pain is tuning programm. Megatune is droped, but VEMSTUNE - unfinished. Newer saw any piece of software whith so much problems of any kind. Plus it is so slow to establish comunication!
