Removing glue

I have just removed the PowerFlyback from my ECU, the hot melt glue was quite easy to remove using a hot scalpel.

I however now need to solder to Pin23 a new wire - but this Pin23 is covered in glue.

Has anyone found a nice way to remove it without scraping?

Its hot melt glue so you can heat and remove it, but it can get a bit sticky. I've found that it will unpick with my thumbnail, and then use a glassfibre brush to clean the surfaces off.

I tried heating it, but it seem to just deposit it elsewhere ;D

Pin23 has access issues, maybe I will have another go in the morning as hopefully the office won't be so hot!

Its a swine to do - thankfully they didnt laquer or pot the board.

Did it this morning, was quite easy when the lab is cool :)

My board does have a conformal(laquer) coating though

You can solder through the glue also, flux sticks easily to pins even though it is surrounding the pin.
