AUDI S8 AHC 4.2 V8

Hi Everyone
I purchased an A4 Audi fitted with this engine and a VEMS V3.3 running it.  The engine does start, however there is no MAF connected .  Does anyone know if this engine can be programmed to run without the MAF connected?  Although the engine runs, it struggles to REV.  Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

The ecu does not require the MAF to be there at all.

Do you have any logs from the ecu,

I just maped 40V version, 370HP without nitro, 610 with nitro.

Thanks for your response.  This is all new to me.  Do you know whether windows VISTA is compatable?  Unable to make a connection between my laptop and ECU.  Error message displayed.  My knowledge in relation to this is a little limited.  I obviously need a step by step idiots guide!! Can anyone help or advise?

Do you know your COM port?
