Connecting to Emerald ECU

Hi I have an Emerald ecu and a VEMS wideband gauge, to connect the to and use wideband band on the Emerald is it just a case of connecting vems pin 1 to emerald pin 35 and vems pin 9 to emerald pin 30 and then configuring the software?

If using a LC-1 with Emerald a 100ohm resistor is required to stabilise the signal, would this be required with the VEMS unit?

A link to the Emerald manual and LC-1 config is below, please help  :)

Your connection setup sounds correct, in short the thing with the resistor I'm not sure about, I dont think it will be needed as the analog out is pretty robust.
You should be then able to match the VEMS wideband output with the AFR/Lambda input calibration and be off and running.

Thanks very much Rob for the input, I'll try it this weekend and let you know how I get on

Please do, it would be useful to know how to interface the Wideband to other ECUs

I did the exact same thing with an Emerald, the downside to the ECU is that the lambda input expects a narrowband signal.

Just decide upon what type of signal you want to send, you could easily use a 0-5  Volt wideband signal and connect it to a free analog input instead of the lambda input. I tried both and found the 0-5 Volt signal more usefule because the car was a rally car with a N/A Audi 5 cyl 10 valve engine that had cams that made it impossible to idle at stoich lambda, so there was no point in connecting the signal to the narrowband lambda input.

I had no trouble, didn't use a resistor and lambda values were solid. I didn't do a write-up, I didn't find any part of it difficult.

Funny enough I have connected it up tonight exactly as you described, using Emerald input pin 10 (0-5v)

Settings on VEMS

Still have to calibrate the ecu 0-5V vs 11-16 mixure scale to suit, but it is working

My engine is also a race spec'ed only it has a turbo

I have done the same on an Emerald too.  Works very well.

Does anyone have the setting they used on emerald and vems so I can compare

Also, when I flashed the vems I lost my settings for the egt probe, can someone post the default values please
