Hy, i am Thomas from Germany and i have a problem.

Running VEMS 1.1.64 since January 2010 on an Audi S2, 3b engine with single coils LS2, hallsensor in the distributer, Siemens deka630, Gt3071, etc...

Now my problem is, that it take sometimes misfire in the range of 6100 RPM.
The logfile shows a wave at 6100 going from 5900 to 6300, sometimes it shows an trigger error.

What can it be, it is only in the range of 6100, sensors are new, spacer is drilled and set closer to the TDC pin, ign. wires changed, coils new, sparkplugs changed....

Thanks Thomas

Hy ,

i have set the Boost Scaling vs TPS the boost at 100% throttle to 89%, taked some runs with no misfire today....

I can't believe it...

The mistake is realy gone......

but why ???

Thanks Thomas

Yes, no difference in boost reading....

Hy,

too early been pleased.... ::)

Today one misfire at 6200 and shows an triggererror, in the logfile the RPM turns from 6200 to 5800 and 6300....

I must take a look to the BoostDC, i will tell you later.....

You really need to find the source of that trigger error before worrying about boost.

I think you're going to need a 'scope to check whats happening with the trigger signal.

th.b.w.

Hy, i will check the triggersignal this week with a scope...

The question for me is :

Is the trigger error first and then the misfire,
or
is the misfire first an it occurs a trigger error

Today i do some RPM turns without driving, the RPM shows stabile, only
at 6100 it counts to 6070 and than to 6130, but no misfire....

Hy,

at some settings changed, testing the triggers sensors, etc. i think i have solved the problem.

The ign dwell time for the LS2 truckcoils was set to 5ms at max. now i set it to 5,5ms.
Since two days no misfire and trigger errors.

The car runs like hell now, i found ~ 20hp more as with Motronic.... ;)

Thanks Thomas

I don't quite get what you've done? I've got LS2 coils on my ABY, could you post a screenshot of your settings please? Are you on S2forum? your alias looks familar

Hi Jamo,

yes i'm on S2 Forum , it's the same username.

Can you give me your mailadress ?
Than i can send you my VEMS-File.....

I have almost the same problem with my friends S4 (AAN original engine), but the trigger error is around 6800RPM.
Did the dwell time change really fixed it? mine is default right now, 3,07ms. If this really worked for you, maybe I´ll trie canging it a bit.

Had now same problem with another car (coupe but with AAN setup).  I tried to change dwell time, from 3,07 to 3,25, nothing really changed... Should I trie it little higher? or is the real problem maybe something else? because one audi S6 (also AAN original setup) works fine with 3,07 dwell time.

Changed the dwell time to 3,5 and it´s all OK :D now it´s no problem to drive until RPM limit (7400RPM). Still the trigger error light comes up (6000 - 6700RPM), but second time no trigger errors... should I b e worried?

Hy, what coils do you run ?

Have you ramp up the dwell with load...

My setting ist ~3,8 at idle and ~5,5ms at 2.0 bar boost......
