Hi, I need some advice with the rpm (tacho) signal. I trying to get my original Audi coupe (89Q) Tachometer running. For this I would like to use a P259 channel. Do I need extra electronic components to get it safe working?
Thanks for helping

No, you can try feed signal directly from EC36-4. It is 0-5V.
If it not works, then try one of stepper outputs (0-12V)

Some old tachos requires voltage spike. Then my solution is to use IGN output with ignition IGBT and instead of bulky ignition coil - just coil from common disassembled relay.

the original siemens ECU (V6 engine) in this Audi had been providing a signal to Tachometer. So, I hope with the right devider setting this will work on P259 channel too. Thanks

I just received my VEMS 3.6 from hungary, but before connecting to the harness I want to be sure everything is set safe. The attached description for  EC36-4 (P259 CH0) has the note: Tachometer (1k pullup to +5V) .
Now I am not sure, do I need this to install for rpm signal?
Thanks

Description tells it is already soldered on board. And needed for tach.
