Windows 7 not connecting via serial?

My XP laptop connects just fine, but my in dash computer, which runs windows 7 won't connect.  Any ideas?

My Win 7 works ok. Are you sure its not the comport that does not work?
Can you please be more specific in your setup and how you connect.
