Problems to start engine with 1.1.74
« on: May 04, 2010, 07:12:51 pm »
Hy,
now i cheanged FW from 1.0.73 to 1.1.74 and now my car won't start.
While cranking the engine revs up to about 2300 rpm and then the fuel is cut.
In a log file i saw, that the rpm goes up to 25500 rpm.
After some tries, there is no pwm while cranking.

My trigger wheel is a 12-1 home made toyota trigger and runs perfect with 1.0.73.
here is my config, please have a look if there is something wrong.

after upgrade, did you first download a default config to the ECU before downloading your config?

First i downloaded the config from 1.0.73,
then FW updated and then upload config and
change some irregular values from the old config.

It's better if you upload only a .vemslog as it contains the config as well, and shows us the exact problem.

Always datalog.

It is important that you fill in the refference tooth table when upgrading from 1.0.xx firmwares. And second important is to double check the trigger tooth before TDC value, as it tends to be different for some reason.

You may also have to look over the cranking enrichments

Are there any mistakes in my config?

The cranking enrichment seems to work, but when the rpm goes higher than 2300rpm the
vems cuts the fuel.
Or is it possible, that the trigger filters are not the same as in FW 1.0.73 ?

I will make a log on evening today.

Check your kpa value for over-run fuel cut.  If the engine is trying to go to a lower kpa then this the fuel will be cut.

What injectors? inj effective rampup is to high.
injectors(h) table is wrong, very wrong
ign cold adjust is also wrong, put to 0
and map sensor offset is also wrong,
and spark table is wrong, with that type of table you will kill engine
crank ve, put 29-31%
warmup also wrong
....

very bad mapped car.

Hello, thanks for your answers.

My injectors are low impedance 540ccm and i measured the rampup on the injector and there was 950µs.

What is the problem with the injectors (h) table ?
It's the original map sensor, its not from webstore.
my spark table runs at least 1000km with boost, we drive with racing fuel.

And the other values you are talked about, are values, which where not in the old FW, in the same unit, so i have to work with them.
But first the car had to be start and run.

Over run fuel cut, is a good point to check, thanks a lot.
