Kangarooing once started when hot

Hi,
just a niggling prob i have had really from day 1,
when you hot start and pull away under light throttle the car tran shunts and kangarroos like mad,
pick revs up etc and its fine for a while,
then does it again
its not as bad once the O2 sensor has warmed up,

ideas?

Not enough VE in the low RPM low MAP area.  Rovers with wilder cams in seem to prefer it a bit rich in this area.
