proplem with Vemstune........ Unable to connect
« on: December 10, 2009, 01:22:22 am »
I thought I'd have a bash using Vemstune instead of megatune for a change, but have had a problem.  Vemstune wont detect my gauge on com 4.  It is a USB to serial convertor but it works fine with megatune.  Is there something i'm missing?  I've checked and all the connection settings seem to be the same for both Vems and Megatune but still no joy  Undecided

Not that I know that much about Vemstune especialy with the WBO2 Gauge, but you have to tell Vemstune what it is connected to in the orefferences menue 'Default Device Config'

Yes i did set that to "round".  All that happens is every few seconds a message comes up saying "couldn't connect to com4",  I know the com port is correct because i opened up megatune and that connected straight away  ???

Sounds like the same problem I have.  Vemstune doesn't seem to like some Prolific made USB->serial converters.
You may have some success by updating your drivers.

Bugger, I might have to "borrow" one from work to try it.  Funny how megatune works fine though.

That's exactly what I have been saying for the past couple of weeks.

TFDI usb thingies seem to work properly.

FTDI adaptors seem to be about the best there are, I always recommend:

It turns out that these are the FTDI manufacturers.
