logging while driving
« on: March 21, 2010, 02:31:08 am »
hello all,

had 3 months off...doing something else for a change after 2 years building...

And i am getting close to driving my car with a new 4.6 v8 engine....

But what are my logging while driving options?....

Got a laptop....but is it safe to use and run while driving?????

any other options available.

cheers

Sure it is. just plug it into the vems unit and log while driving. Just secure it if your alone driving.

If you have a grub around on the wiki there should be information on how to interface an SD card to the ECU, it requires some open box surgery but might be what you want for 'hands off' datalogging.

I set my laptop up so it could sit on the passenger seat with the lid closed for logging.  It's worked for me for quite a while.
